Great Progression

Feet Still On Ground!

Weigh Day #3. Another loss, not as much as last week but I expected that, more of later. Still, 1.3 kilos is not to be sniffed at one jot. Delighted with my progression, trying new things and seeing what works and what doesn’t. It’s weird because I’ve only been doing this three weeks but it feels like much longer. Yesterday, I was out and about munching (slowly!) a Sunday roast with all the trimmings bar the potatoes.

Amazed at how much a normal plate filled me up (always used to get the large without even thinking!). I’m still getting restless nights and had a bit of an episode Saturday and felt very exhausted last night. I somewhat unwisely stayed up late to watch the football highlights as well.

Had an early start today as well. Up at 6-30, had to take Bowie out then drive er indoors to work before trekking to Stockport to take my car in for a service/MOT and pick up a temporary replacement car. Got home just in time for this week’s More Life Zoom meeting at 10. By the time that was finished, it was time for work! Phew! I only had a Slimfast shake which is nowhere near enough. I always feel a lot better when I have a proper breakfast.

Temptation!

Temptation All Around!

I hard to work hard resisting this week. Cake on the table. Sandwiches and pizza in the fridge. Food I adore. Or used to adore. Not so fussed now. This was never going to be plain sailing but I’m not as tempted which is a sign of the fantastic progression I’ve made since changing my lifestyle. Doesn’t mean to say I’m not tempted but I find the longer I try new habits, the less I crave such bad foodstuffs. After a busy day at work, I did crack later on consuming four-quarter sandwiches and one small slice of pizza,

The interesting thing is apart from the butter in the sandwich (that tasted so good but it is a natural product!), this food did nothing for me. I counted the calories as best I could, got home and ate a lovely meal of pork, cabbage, courgettes and black beans. The taste was fantastic. This is real food and the more I go on this journey, the more I am becoming less interested in processed food. For example, today with my bacon and egg breakfast, I for the first time tried without ketchup. I didn’t miss it at all. I’ve also gone off baked beans since licking the spoon the other day and tasting the sugar!

Resist The Temptation!

More temptation everywhere!
Temptation was everywhere this week!

I’m embracing any weight loss above 0.5 kilos so to shed another 1.3 is marvellous progression and I’m very happy so far. I’ve found this all easier to absorb than I envisaged. There is much work to be done and I have to stay focused. And that is not always easy. Last night, I munched on some cheese and crackers. Not too many but felt close to having a night of counting calories and weighing food. Temptation will always be present. How you deal with it is key.

Weigh Day #3 Summary

A Good Week!

When things get tough, I think of the joy I’ve brought myself already. When I walked Bowie through the rainy, windy streets of North Manchester in the dark, I couldn’t believe how quickly I was walking and how much less out of breath I was. I feel more cleansed with less poison inside. The taste you get from processed food is false. These types of food are designed to addict.

Into week four and no signs of cracking yet. Even if I did, I’ve got the mindset to cope with such a setback and bounce back. Happy with weigh day #3.
