Why you shouldn’t celebrate too soon. Weigh Day #2 has brought marvellous results, but you also need to remind yourself that there is an awful long way to go. A celebration is fine, but don’t go overboard in your quest to lose weight.

Time To Celebrate?

Not Too Soon, Eh?

Losing weight is a great feeling; the second weigh day has been a resounding success. Oh, that wonderful feeling when you step on the scales, and there’s loss. I bloody love this. More please!

Hold your horses, Del! Don’t get carried away; this level of weight loss is not sustainable. I feel like a football team on a winning streak where nothing can go wrong. The past couple of weeks, whilst being a joy to behold, won’t be like that forever… or will it? I’ll put the champers on ice for now, but this is cause for mild celebration! You’ve done the hard bit, and that’s got going!

Losing 1.9 kilos in a week is something else. I’m on cloud nine, but I’m also keeping myself grounded. Complacency is critical in a situation like this. I’m still morbidly obese, yet I feel fitter than ever! Given the quick change, I can only conclude that the previous foodstuffs I consumed were doing nothing but total harm to my mind, body, and soul.

Determination To Succeed

Slowly, Surely

Today, I was thinking, why are diets and weight loss programmes seemingly set up to fail? The reality is they want you to buy their products and keep subscribing week in and week out because that’s good for business. We have hundreds of reasons/excuses why we overeat and why we cannot control eating. I should know; I’ve done the bloody lot. Weigh Day #2 has given me a source of encouragement.

Rapid weight loss is to be expected at the beginning, and I am happy about that. I have to confess, this feels different from the many various diets and weight loss programmes I’ve tried. Maybe it’s because I’m taking a little bit of everything and rolling it into one package that suits my needs. I found the results surprising, but I wonder if this can be kept going long-term.

Keep Going!

Promising Start

Another small step is my job, which has become busier and more stressful as we approach the wretched Yuletide season. So far, I’m not even thinking about food when it gets busy. Before, I’d be consuming ten biscuits. The way I used to gorge them was bordering on disgusting. Still, I am looking forward, not backwards and not even remotely tempted to start eating biscuits again. I’m pretty much off all snack-type food and sweet treats laced with sugar. I honestly do believe the food industry is poisoning us, so we become addicted to bad food.

I constantly read my tip sheet for reminders. Once you start eating proper food regularly, eating mindfully, sticking with your plan and listening to advice from everywhere, the puzzle begins to unravel, and the whole thing is not rocket science. Annoyingly, I knew all of this years ago. It doesn’t matter because I’m doing it now.
